The ADAPT programme
The programme is based on the Duluth model and uses the issue of ‘power and control’ as a theoretical framework. Following an in depth 2 hours assessment ADAPT is a 30 week rolling programme consisting of five modules which are:
- Physical Abuse
- Sexual Respect
- Emotional Abuse
- Domestic Abuse & Children
- Rebuilding Trust & Respect
Common themes throughout all of the modules are issues around the use of power and control, partner blame, denial and minimisation and the use of violence logs.
The Hampton Trust was a pilot for Respect accreditation in 2007 and is currently working towards accreditation for their ADAPT programme.
