Pledge to end violence against women
Did you know last year around 1.2 million women suffered domestic abuse, over 400,000 women were sexually assaulted, 70,000 women were raped and thousands more were stalked (homeoffice).
Domestic abuse affects any one of us and happens in our towns, homes and communities. It has become evident that abuse can occur within a number of different relationships. This abuse can cover incidents of violence occurring between married couples, abuse between roommates, dating couples, those in same sex relationships as well as abuse of elders by family members.
On Monday 25th November we will be asking the public at ASDA Southampton & Havant to pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women as part International Day for the ending of Violence Against Women, otherwise known as White Ribbon Day.
It is important to acknowledge that all forms of domestic abuse can have damaging and lasting effects on the victims and other members of the family.
Together we can help end this abuse, so please come down and support us!
